Grant found a leader in Matthew Gonzalez as the team took down Monroe on Wednesday. Gonzalez did his part (and then some), striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits for the 'W'. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Gonzalez's strong effort led Grant over Monroe and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers have some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since April of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
