The Lake Braddock Bruins will face off against the South County Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South County will be up against a hot Lake Braddock squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Bruins blew past Fairfax 11-1 on Tuesday.

Mac Verdejo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addison Forde was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Radha Samuel, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, South County entered their tilt with Woodson on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 12-2 win.
Maddie Grice tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Oksana Rodriguez was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Julia Niner was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
South County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lake Braddock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for South County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Lake Braddock's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Bruins have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for South County, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lake Braddock continue to outrun the ball?
Lake Braddock beat South County 6-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
