Basketball Game Preview: Grundy Golden Wave vs. Northwood Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Grundy Golden Wave will jump right back in to play the Northwood Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Grundy will be strutting in after a win while Northwood will be coming in after a loss.

Grundy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Cloudland as Grundy made off with a 66-46 victory. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Golden Wave this season.

Meanwhile, Northwood took a blow against Unicoi County on Wednesday, falling 82-38. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northwood now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Grundy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Grundy's way against Northwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, as Grundy made off with a 72-50 win. Will Grundy repeat their success, or does Northwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
