Basketball Game Preview: Gold Beach Panthers vs. Bandon Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gold Beach is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Gold Beach had to suffer through a 56-24 loss at the hands of Oakland. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Oakers are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Bandon posted their biggest victory since December 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Reedsport with a sharp 59-36 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Gold Beach's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Bandon, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Gold Beach skirted past Bandon 38-36 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gold Beach since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
