Recap: Winnebago Indians vs. Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers
The Winnebago Indians were the 76-59 winner over the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Winnebago fell 67-60 to Bancroft-Rosalie on Tuesday. Even though they lost, Winnebago's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Winnebago lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cashus Kearnes, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. Rahkim Free-bass was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Winnebago and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winnebago will take on Hartington-Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Hartington-Newcastle is ranked 214th, while Winnebago is ranked 197th). As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarkson/Leigh at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clarkson/Leigh is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
