Basketball Game Preview: Springtown Porcupines vs. Burkburnett Bulldogs

Springtown is 0-5 against Burkburnett since January of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Springtown Porcupines will host the Burkburnett Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Springtown is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were dealt an 80-41 loss at the hands of Krum. The Porcupines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.

Meanwhile, Burkburnett entered their tilt with Eagle Mountain on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Knights. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Knights are ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burkburnett pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.7 points over those games. As for Springtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-22.

Springtown was taken down by Burkburnett 105-59 in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Springtown was down 53-29.
