Volleyball Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Arp Tigers

The Pine Tree Pirates will take on the Arp Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Pine Tree gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Grace Community with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Pirates not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 17, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Pine Tree never let Grace Community on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Arp had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Big Sandy as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Arp won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-9.

Pine Tree beat Arp 2-0 when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
