Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Alexander's 15th in Last 16 Outings

Alexander took a 29-point loss the last time they faced off against Medina Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Alexander Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over the Medina Valley Panthers on Wednesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Panthers are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexander is also on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Medina Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.

When Alexander and Medina Valley next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Alexander will try to stop Eagle Pass' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Medina Valley will square off against United and their five-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
