Basketball Recap: Fleetwood Comes Up Short

If Fleetwood was riding high fresh off their 55-35 takedown of Upper Perkiomen on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fleetwood Tigers came up short against the Octorara Area Braves on Saturday, falling 77-55. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while the Braves are ranked 145th).

When it comes to explaining why Fleetwood lost, don't look at Caden Ryan. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Vorse, who posted six points.

Fleetwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Octorara Area, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Fleetwood will welcome Conrad Weiser at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Octorara Area, they will venture away from home to square off against Schuylkill Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Octorara Area's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
