Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Oak Hill Oaks

The Eastern Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Oak Hill Oaks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eastern came up short against Northwest on Monday, falling 14-4. The Eagles have struggled against the Mohawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Eastern saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Trey Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill came up short against Northwest on Wednesday and fell 6-3.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Oak Hill, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Eastern might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Oak Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
