Soccer Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

Geneva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Charles North North Stars. While losing is never fun, Geneva can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while St. Charles North are ranked 45th).

Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-4. As for St. Charles North, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Geneva will face off against Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Charles North, they will challenge Glenbard East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
