Recap: New Summerfield Hornets vs. Laneville Yellowjackets
The New Summerfield Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 58-25 defeat at the hands of Laneville. New Summerfield was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.
Jamorian Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Laneville, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Ross, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
New Summerfield has fallen quite a ways from their 23-9 record last season and are now at 3-14. As for Laneville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
New Summerfield is on the road again on Friday and play against Troup at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. Troup presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Summerfield in Texas (Troup is ranked 570th, while New Summerfield is ranked 1578th). Laneville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harleton at 9:30 a.m. on December 29th. Harleton is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
