Basketball Recap: Orchard View Gets the Win

Orchard View hadn't done well against Oakridge recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Orchard View Cardinals walked away with a 34-23 victory over the Oakridge Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 48-34 defeat.

Orchard View's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Oakridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Orchard View and Oakridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Orchard View (ranked 594th) will meet Montague (ranked 176th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Oakridge will take on Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday down 270 places (536 vs. 266).
