Soccer Recap: Crystal River Takes a Loss

Crystal River managed to keep up with The Villages Charter until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Crystal River Pirates came up short against The Villages Charter Buffalo, falling 4-1. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Buffalo: they've now lost five in a row.

Crystal River's goal came courtesy of Madden Verlato, who's now up to three this season.

Crystal River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for The Villages Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Crystal River will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crystal River is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for The Villages Charter, they will challenge Apopka at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
