Softball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

If Kennedy was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Simeon last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders came up short against the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs on Friday, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Kennedy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Ruiz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will be playing at home against Argo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Argonauts will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they will challenge Amundsen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
