Volleyball Game Preview: Cassville Comets vs. Potosi Chieftains

The Cassville Comets will head out on the road to square off against the Potosi Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Potosi took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cassville, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Cassville turned things around against Benton on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Zephyrs.

Cassville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Potosi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Shullsburg.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 22-25, 25-9.

Potosi's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Cassville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-13.

Cassville might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Potosi when the teams last played back in September. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
