Baseball Recap: Plainview Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lone Grove, Plainview was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Douglass Trojans get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Shepard Sisemore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Plainview is 3-1 when Sisemore posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Brylan Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Plainview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Plainview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Douglass, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Plainview will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Marlow at 5:00 p.m. As for Douglass, they will venture away from home to take on Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
