Basketball Game Preview: Centerburg Trojans vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Centerburg Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Loudonville Redbirds at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Loudonville likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Centerburg took their game with ease, bagging a 62-34 victory over East Knox. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Loudonville over Mt. Gilead in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Loudonville blew past Mt. Gilead 47-26. The Redbirds pushed the score to 40-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had little chance of recovering from.

Centerburg's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.7 points. As for Loudonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Everything went Centerburg's way against Loudonville when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Centerburg made off with a 47-23 victory. In that game, Centerburg amassed a halftime lead of 33-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
