Baseball Recap: Foundation Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Foundation Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Umatilla Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matches in a row.

Foundation Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Beasley, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Beasley's first of the season. Another was Tony Marshowsky, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Foundation Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Umatilla, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-8 record.

Coming up, Foundation Academy will be playing at home against University Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.2, the Christians 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Umatilla, they are taking a road trip to take on Lake Weir at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
