Basketball Game Preview: Show-Me Christian Angels vs. Bethel Academy

The Show-Me Christian Angels will face off against Bethel Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Show-Me Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Applewood Christian on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Show-Me Christian had to suffer through a 53-15 loss at the hands of Applewood Christian. The Angels were down 39-9 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Taija Jones, who posted six points and 11 boards. Abigail Randleman was another key player, putting up two points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Bethel Academy lost 40-19 to Center Place back in December of 2024. Bethel Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Like Bethel Academy, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Kayla Touokong led the charge by earning six points in addition to seven rebounds and seven blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Liberty Atkins, who scored seven points.

Show-Me Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bethel Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Show-Me Christian took a serious blow against Bethel Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 65-8. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Show-Me Christian was down 35-4.
