Basketball Recap: East English Village Prep Takes a Loss

East English Village Prep lost against King back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. East English Village Prep came up short against the King Crusaders, falling 82-62. While losing is never fun, East English Village Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while King is ranked 27th).

Despite the loss, East English Village Prep still got an impressive performance from Joe Tate, who posted 27 points. Tate's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Rayshawn Johnson, who earned 16 points.

East English Village Prep's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for King, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Coming up, East English Village Prep will welcome Kensington Woods at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for King, they will take on Cass Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cass Tech will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something King surely won't give up without a fight.
