Basketball Game Preview: Byers Lions vs. Falkner Eagles

The Byers Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Falkner Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Byers played against Horn Lake and lost via forfeit.

Last Tuesday, Falkner humbled Jumpertown with a 65-32 victory. With the Eagles ahead 45-22 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Byers better keep an eye on Elijah Mauney. He was instrumental in Falkner's win, going 7 of 12 en route to 21 points and six steals. The game was Mauney's third in a row with at least ten points. Chris Nunley was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and six steals.

The win made it two in a row for Falkner and bumps their season record up to 11-11. As for Byers, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Byers was able to grind out a solid victory over Falkner in their previous meeting last Tuesday, winning 48-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Byers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
