Football Recap: Gulisa Nunez and Annika Griffith Pace Clark Defense

Clark fell victim to Bonanza and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 24-0 to the Bonanza Bengals. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bengals from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Clark didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gulisa Nunez and Annika Griffith. Nunez has become a key player for Clark: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least one interception, but 3-14 otherwise. Clark got some further help from Madison Mulhall: she picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles.

Clark has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Bonanza, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Clark has already played their next game (against Durango), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bonanza will challenge Sierra Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Vista is on a four-game streak of home wins, Bonanza a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
