Baseball Recap: Hancock Takes a Loss

Hancock was the 6-5 winner over Fort Hill when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Hancock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaire Ray, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The Panthers are 3-1 when Ray posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.

Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fort Hill, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Hancock will be playing in front of their home fans against Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.17 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fort Hill, they will head out on the road to square off against Southern at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
