Recap: Jellico Blue Devils vs. West Ridge Wolves
It was a good run, but the Jellico Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 79-68 to West Ridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jellico lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Bolton, who scored 23 points along with five steals. The match was Bolton's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was John Zecchini, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Jellico now has a losing record at 7-8. As for West Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Jellico won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against King's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (King's Academy is ranked 282nd, while Jellico is ranked 261st). West Ridge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnson County at 8:00 p.m. on February 6, 2024.
