Recap: Brandon Bulldogs vs. Pearl Pirates

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meridian, the Brandon Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-61 win over Pearl. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brandon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylon Barnes, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ottis Harrison, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Brandon pushed their record up to 16-10 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Pearl, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season.

Brandon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pearl, they and Northwest Rankin will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
