Softball Recap: Port Neches-Groves Comes Up Short

Port Neches-Groves and Lake Creek squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Port Neches-Groves had to settle for second. They lost 8-2 to the Lions.

Port Neches-Groves saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jardin Cunningham, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Port Neches-Groves' loss dropped their record down to 27-6. As for Lake Creek, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 30-0.

While Port Neches-Groves had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
