Baseball Game Preview: Aberdeen Bobcats vs. WF West Bearcats

Aberdeen hasn't had much luck against WF West recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. Aberdeen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Aberdeen barely beat Centralia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Bubba Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Aberdeen's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). WF West's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-2-1. As for Aberdeen, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Aberdeen suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to WF West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
