Recap: Pieper Warriors vs. Boerne-Champion Chargers
The Pieper Warriors lost against the Boerne-Champion Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pieper fell 42-32 to the Chargers. Pieper has not had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Pieper saw an underclassman step up: MAYSON THOMAS dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was DONOVAN BESCH, who scored nine points.
Pieper has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-11 record this season. As for Boerne-Champion, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pieper will take on the Antlers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tivy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Warriors likes a good challenge. As for Boerne-Champion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Smithson Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
