Baseball Recap: Twin Valley Comes Up Short

Twin Valley had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it 16. They came up short against the Mount View Golden Knights, falling 14-1. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Mount View, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Twin Valley: they've now won three in a row.

For Mount View's part, Levi Barton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barton has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Mount View got a massive performance out of Kyrece Hughes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Hughes has become a key player for the Golden Knights: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hunter Muncy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mount View beat Twin Valley by a score of 17-3 later that day.
