Volleyball Recap: Petal Takes a Loss

Petal lost against Brandon back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs.

While Petal ultimately came up short, they really made Brandon work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 26-24.

Leading Brandon to victory were Ivy Bankston and Lynnon Rhodes. Bankston had eight digs and three aces, while Rhodes had 12 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Bankston has posted since back in August.

Petal's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Brandon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Petal will head out to take on Purvis at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brandon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
