Baseball Recap: Wheaton-Warrenville South Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wheaton-Warrenville South's offense. They fell just short of the Belleville West Maroons by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Drew Eger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits.

At the plate, Wheaton-Warrenville South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Conover, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Wheaton-Warrenville South's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Belleville West, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheaton-Warrenville South will take on Barrington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Belleville West, they will square off against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Midgets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
