Basketball Game Preview: Rogers Royals vs. Totino-Grace Eagles

Rogers hasn't had much luck against Totino-Grace recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rogers Royals are taking a road trip to challenge the Totino-Grace Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Rogers came up short against Blaine and fell 78-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (60), the Royals still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Totino-Grace got the win against Maple Grove on Monday by a conclusive 79-59. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Totino-Grace is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.9 points over those games. As for Rogers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.

Rogers ended up a good deal behind Totino-Grace in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 84-67. Can Rogers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
