Baseball Game Preview: Santana Sultans vs. Steele Canyon Cougars

For the second straight game, Santana will face off against Steele Canyon. The Sultans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Santana didn't have quite enough to beat Steele Canyon and fell 4-2.

For Steele Canyon's part, Andrew Bravo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. Bravo has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Steele Canyon's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Rimoldi, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Another was Austin Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The victory (which was Steele Canyon's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-13. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Santana, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12.
