Football Recap: Holbrook Piles Up the Points Against Many Farms

Holbrook won the last time they faced Many Farms and things went their way on Friday too. The Roadrunners took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-8 victory over the Lobos. The result was nothing new for the Roadrunners, who have now won four games by 36 points or more so far this season.

Matthias Montijo produced another solid performance rushing for 104 yards and a pair of scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Justman, who threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

Holbrook's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. It was truly a group effort as Manny Rico, Troy Francis, and Devin Ambrose picked up two apiece. Ambrose is becoming a predictor of Holbrook's success: when he posts at least one sack the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The Roadrunners received some extra help from Francis, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Holbrook, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of William Kinds, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Holbrook has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points over those games. As for Many Farms, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Holbrook has already played their next contest, a 20-18 loss against Tuba City on the 24th. Many Farms does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
