Softball Recap: Lone Jack Has No Trouble Against Butler

While Lone Jack put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Butler. Lone Jack put the hurt on Butler with a sharp 9-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Mules, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kaylee Felix made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Felix was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tayvia Hook, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sophia Randolph was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Lone Jack and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Jack will welcome Concordia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Concordia's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Lone Jack's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Butler, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rich Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Butler is facing Rich Hill at the right time seeing as Rich Hill is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
