Basketball Game Preview: Our Lady of the Elms Panthers vs. East Dragons

The Our Lady of the Elms Panthers will take on the East Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Our Lady of the Elms and 22 for East dating back to last season.

Last Wednesday, Our Lady of the Elms had to suffer through a 73-23 loss at the hands of East.

Meanwhile, East ended up a good deal behind Aquinas on Monday and lost 47-33. The Dragons were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Our Lady of the Elms will need to focus on slowing down Dareyae Cooper, one of several East players who made an impact when they last played. She almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds.

Even though they lost, East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Our Lady of the Elms' record is now 2-12. As for East, their record is now 0-11.

Our Lady of the Elms beat East 49-41 in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Will Our Lady of the Elms repeat their success, or does East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
