Basketball Recap: Eustis Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eustis waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 56-39 victory over the Deltona Wolves.

Eustis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyren Felix-Rodriguez, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 12 points and three steals. Felix-Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Glover, who posted 11 points.

Despite the loss, Deltona saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendon Thomas had eight points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Izryal Garcia, who put up four points and five boards.

Eustis' record now sits at 6-1. As for Deltona, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Eustis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-25 victory against Citrus on the 6th. As for Deltona, they will head out to challenge Pine Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
