Softball Recap: Cardinal Newman Wins Going Away Against Calvary Christian Academy

Cardinal Newman had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles on Monday as the Cardinal Newman Crusaders made off with a 17-5 victory. With that win, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Maeve Adams made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Khanna, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Mahoney, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
