Football Recap: Hardee Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If North Port wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hardee, they should've done a better job of containing Dariyon Watson. The Wildcats managed a 29-25 win over the Bobcats on Friday for which the team can thank Watson, who rushed for 218 yards and three scores while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.

Despite the defeat, North Port saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cameron Wilson picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles. Jax Stoltzfus also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 107.

Hardee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.88 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.73 in the others. As for North Port, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Hardee has already played their next matchup, a 34-0 victory against DeSoto County on the 24th. As for North Port, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-14 loss against Mulberry on the 24th.
