Basketball Game Preview: Hermon-DeKalb Central Demons vs. Tupper Lake Lumberjacks

After both having extra time off, the Hermon-DeKalb Central Demons and the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Hermon-DeKalb Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian River last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tupper Lake was just a bucket shy of victory last Friday and fell 45-44 to Madrid-Waddington. The game marked the Lumberjacks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hermon-DeKalb Central will have to contain Felix Bodeewes as he made an impact in Tupper Lake's last game. He went 11 for 18 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. Bodeewes' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Clark, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Hermon-DeKalb Central couldn't quite finish off Tupper Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2022 and fell 48-46. Can Hermon-DeKalb Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
