Preview: Jonesboro Cardinals vs. Glynn Academy Terrors
The Jonesboro Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Glynn Academy Terrors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Jonesboro has not done well against Lovejoy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jonesboro secured a 36-30 W over Lovejoy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jonesboro.
Jonesboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamon Jones out in front who threw for 307 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Montez Redding was another key contributor, picking up 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Glynn Academy waltzed into Friday's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Lakeside, posting a 50-7 win at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-7.
Jonesboro's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Glynn Academy, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record.
Jonesboro was taken down by Glynn Academy 45-3 in their previous matchup back in November of 2016. Thankfully for Jonesboro, Deejay Dallas (who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 106 yards and a touchdown on only five passes) won't be suiting up this time.
