Softball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Summit can now relate to. They fell just short of the South Plainfield Tigers by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Hilltoppers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

With the loss, Summit broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-5. As for South Plainfield, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Plainfield, they will challenge Randolph on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.6, the Rams 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
