Recap: Business Engineering Science Tech Eagles vs. South Atlanta Hornets
The Business Engineering Science Tech Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-54 to South Atlanta. While losing is never fun, Business Engineering Science Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while South Atlanta is ranked 174th).
Business Engineering Science Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emery Jones, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Fallou Dioum, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.
Speaking of assists, Business Engineering Science Tech were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Atlanta only racked up three assists.
South Atlanta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bol Deng, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Duor Duor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Business Engineering Science Tech has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for South Atlanta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.
