Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Falls Short of Manila in the Playoffs

Mount Vernon and Manila squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mount Vernon had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Manila Mustangs and fell 62-12. The Patriots have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Manila got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Lail out in front who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Logan Potter, who had nine points.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Manila, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13.

Mount Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manila, they will square off against Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Manila is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
