Baseball Recap: Garfield Heights Bulldogs vs. Warrensville Heights Tigers

While Garfield Heights's victory against Warrensville Heights wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 13-11. 13 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

D'COREY MARTIN made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Garfield Heights got a big performance out of TERRANCE JACKSON, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave JACKSON a new career-high. Orion Camper was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Garfield Heights' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Warrensville Heights, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Garfield Heights will square off against Richmond Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Warrensville Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
