Softball Game Preview: Hopkins County Central Storm vs. Logan County Cougars

The Hopkins County Central Storm will head out to face off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopkins County Central has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hopkins County Central's offense. They came up short against Webster County on Thursday, falling 15-0. The loss continues a trend for the Storm in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Logan County suffered their biggest defeat since March 18th on Wednesday. They lost 9-3 to Jo Byrns. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Haley Henson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Reese Wetton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hopkins County Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-20-1. As for Logan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Hopkins County Central might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Logan County in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
