5A Region II District 11 recap Oct. 23, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Naaman Forest, who took down 251st ranked Lakeview Centennial, 28-7.
South Garland extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region II District 11 this week by beating Rowlett, 48-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
DEMARCUS HALL was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 133 yards on 25 carries as the Patriots lost to Garland. BRENT DAVENPORT also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.
Carson Hyles threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns. He went 18-44 with zero interceptions.
Kent Myers provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Mustangs lost to the Owls. He completed 23 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 31 yards. Myers' favorite target this week was Williams, who caught eight passes for 110 yards.
On the ground, Lakeview Centennial's HALL has rushed for 904 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chris Heath. The Rowlett star has 37 catches for 603 yards.
HALL of the Kendall Miller's team is only 96 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in 5A Region II District 11 this week will be when South Garland takes on Garland. Mark Cox's team is currently in first, while Jeff Jordan's team is in fourth.
The Rangers moved up to 263 from 337 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Naaman Forest climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Patriots 28-7.
