Volleyball Recap: Boynton Beach Comes Up Short

If Boynton Beach was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Palm Beach Gardens two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Santaluces Chiefs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost six in a row.

Boynton Beach wouldn't go down easily and took Santaluces into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 17-25, 20-25, 15-7.

Marcus Lashley paced Boynton Beach's offense, picking up seven kills. Lashley got some help from Danilo Boaventura and his 18 assists. Hunter Lotito and Jakeiran Daley kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Boynton Beach now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Santaluces, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Boynton Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Deerfield Beach on the 2nd. As for Santaluces, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Glades Central on the 2nd.
