Volleyball Game Preview: Spring Grove Lions vs. Fillmore Central Falcons

The Spring Grove Lions will face off against the Fillmore Central Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Spring Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Southland as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Spring Grove's got stronger as the match went on, holding Southland to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 25-12.

If Hayfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fillmore Central, they should've done a better job of containing Josie Corson. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings on Thursday thanks in part to Corson, who had 13 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 18 times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Fillmore Central was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13, 25-13.

Spring Grove's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Fillmore Central, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.
